The beginning
1985

Introduction show: Invitation of the local press for interviews and photoshooting in early 1985 (from left to right: Dirk, Bernd, Guido). This promotion was made with six band members, but soon we decided to reduce it down to four (only one guitarist and no particular vocalist)

First public gig in September 1985 in Jugendzentrum Guetersloh
1986

Impressions inside and outside the rehearsal place; Our first keyboardist Chris is with Guido, Bernd and Dirk
1987

Another of the mutliple gigs in these early years; note that from 1985 - 87 the band was named "Control" and Dirk was using Double Bass Drum and Bernd and Guido in real rock star poses - everything as it should be in those days
The first years
1988

Again impressions inside and outside the rehearsal place; Now acting as "SIGNUM" without keyboardist and a new singer: Kelly
1989

One of the famous "End of Summer" garden gigs of Signum - in the meantime everybody invested into better equipment
1990

New haircuts (yes, the time of hairmetal was going to be over soon) - the first recordings in Tom's studio were made in this time period; To prepare for that we used the silver cassette recorder aka ghetto blaster in the background of the first picture, lol
The successful years
1991

In 1991 we had to change the lineup for a few gigs. Kelly was giving birth to Dennis, the son of her and Bernd (Look at the current lineup and think about it for a moment...) That's why we were asking a good friend of ours, Phil, who became the second singer from that time on
1992

And then we were six again: Phil as second singer and a new member on keyboards: Matt, which allowed us to come up with more sophisticated compositions and arrangements; something that you can listen to on our current EP release "A Personal Thing"

The stages became bigger - lights and fog and professional sound equipment was the new standard; and eventually SIGNUM had concerts in front of audiences of several hundred spectators

But one thing never changed: We rocked the audience, no matter if it was 10 or 1.000 people
1993

Although Phil was not in this band picture he was always more than present on stage (here in the middle) while Bernd hopped off stage to perform one of his famous slap bass solos

The last concerts in autumn 1993 (we even had our own banner behind the stage).... Great times, but the inspiration got lost - we recorded a few songs at Tom's studio again and it turned out that the members were going different directions of their musical development - that was the end of SIGNUM - but, wait: The story is not yet being told to the end....
