Here are some liner notes about the six songs of "A Personal Thing"

Personal Thing: A rather classic rock vibe determines this song. Compared to the original we skipped a piano intro to add a little more power to the arrangement. Instead of a solo intro section you now can hear the piano as little sparkling elements among the other instruments.

Heartbeat Away: This song used to be one of the best acclaimed songs in live performances in the 90’s, so it had to be on the EP. Nearly unchanged in its arrangement Florian and Guido added a great keyboard/guitar solo in the middle section. We rewrote the lyrics to reflect current topics rather than teenage dreams.

You got to hold on: While the chord progression remained unchanged, the lyrics have been completely rewritten and the chorus has been updated to add a little more “crunch” to the 2022 version.

Sometimes: It used to be the showtime for Bernd with a lot of slap bass guitar within the song. We decided to give that little space in the middle for that reminiscence, but the rest of the song was arranged completely new. It has a much darker progressive metal feel.

Dying in the streets: The original song was on a compilation CD of Radio Guetersloh as a rock version . Later Signum decided to create a ballad based on the same chord progression named "Hold him in your dreams". The 2022 version has been shortened and renamed again to "Dying in the streets" and filled up with some distorted guitars.

Seasons never change: This song went through several changes including the title. While initially the chorus was existing in two versions the second one was kept for this recording. However the intro has been skipped completely – the original one was a typical 80’s fanfare on the keyboard which sounds "not very common" nowadays.
